Shrama, as said by swamijee, cleans the dust which covers the self and it throws away the petty desires which always follow is like shadow. A karma yogi is a man who goes on working without expectation of its result a propounded by 'Lord Krishna' in the Gita.
The members, brahmachari and other inmates of the ashram perform various karma yoga like maintaining hygiene & sanitation, planation, watering the herb and plants, santha seva and working at Annapurna annakhetra giving selfless Goseva at GOSHALA etc.
